Automatic Sea Vision

AUTOMATIC SEA VISION ® (ASV) develops innovative software solutions to automate maritime surveillance and respond to the current needs of maritime safety and security.

The software uses the video stream of one or more visible or infrared cameras to provide a watch, detection and alert service without the intervention of human beings.

The ASV software suite consists of various products amongst which our ASV-DET software, based on a unique and specific image analysis designed to automatically detect  moving/static  objects in a ever moving environment (sea, river, ..) from a fixed or moving(ship) platform.

Our results in that environment are quite significant and we can detect very small objects (as small as 2 pixels = head of a man overboard, fishing buoys, debris,…) stopped or very fast objects (35+ knots) and work in severe environment (trials done up to sea state 4 and 5).

Combined with the automation and a low false alarm rate, the ASV software represents a true technological breakthrough in image processing and video analytics applied to maritime environment.

Automatic Sea Vision permanent innovation process has just been awarded with the 2012 SME innovation price by the French Oil & Gas and associated industries cluster after the one received in 2008 at Euronaval the largest International Naval Defence and Maritime Exhibition.

Speaker: Mr. Bernard ARATA, Business Development Director.

After 26 years in the French Navy with operational and technical responsibilities as a surface warfare officer, Bernard Arata joined Automatic Sea Vision to actively participate to the development of this innovative system thanks to his experience and maritime knowledge.
