Alain Guilhot Lumière

Light Designer, Alain Guilhot, created “Alain Guilhot Lumière” after more than 30 year’s expertise in the lighting industry. He was the president of «Architecture Lumière” company since 1976, a Citelum subsidiary. He became one of the major actor’s in the world of lighting, and a passionate representative of the French culture. From the first Light plan in Lyon, he launched on his initiative in the 80’s, the most prestigious Light works. His contribution and personal involvement to the “Fetes de Lumières” in the city of Lyon was essential to the international expansion of the festival. He has designed art pieces with his teams from all around the world: Lyon, Cannes Paris, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Singapore (Sentosa Island)…To share his expertise and know-how, he also wrote a pictures book («light is life»), showcasing the most beautiful lighting realisations from more than 30 countries in the world taken by the greatest photographers, with notes from partners, politicians and decisions- makers.

Managing Director of 8th Avenue sdn. bhd. since year 2007. During his career he was the Asia Director of CItelum group (2003-2007) and realized the Lighting Master Plan of Sentosa Island (Singapore-2005), the lighting design of the Petronas Twin towers in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia-2003), the Pearl Oriental TV tower in Shanghai (China-2003), Optimized Street Lighting in Southeast Asia-A regional project. Through a true partnership between European community, organizations from Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as pilot cities of Vientiane in Lao PDR, Nong Khai in Thailand and Nhatrang in Vietnam-2005, share experiences and analyze how to improve the performance of street lighting. Most recently the Menara Kuala Lumpur TV tower (Malaysia-2007).
